Connecting Shopify

Connect your Shopify store to Yohaku so you can publish generated Japanese SEO articles directly to your Shopify blog.

Prerequisites

  • An active Shopify store
  • Shopify Admin access (store owner or staff with Apps permission)
  • A blog already created in your Shopify store (Online Store → Blog posts)

Setup Steps

1

Go to Shopify Admin → Apps → Develop apps

In your Shopify admin panel, navigate to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps. If you haven't enabled custom app development, click "Allow custom app development" first.

2

Create a custom app

Click "Create an app"and name it something like "Yohaku SEO". Under Configuration → Admin API integration, grant the following scopes:

read_content, write_content

These scopes allow Yohaku to read your blog list and publish new articles.

3

Install the app and copy the access token

Click "Install app", then go to the API credentials tab. Under Admin API access token, click "Reveal token once" and copy the token. Store it securely — Shopify will only show it once.

4

Enter credentials in Yohaku

In your Yohaku dashboard, go to Integrations → Shopify and fill in:

  • Shop domain: your-store.myshopify.com
  • Access token: the token you copied in step 3
  • Blog ID: the ID of the blog you want to publish to (see below)
5

Click "Test Connection"

Yohaku will verify your credentials by making a test API call to your store. If successful, you'll see a green confirmation message.

Finding Your Blog ID

Your Shopify Blog ID is a numeric identifier for the blog where articles will be published. To find it:

  1. Go to Online Store → Blog posts in your Shopify admin
  2. Click on "Manage blogs"
  3. Click on the blog you want to use
  4. Look at the URL in your browser — it will look like:
https://your-store.myshopify.com/admin/blogs/123456789

The number at the end (123456789) is your Blog ID.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid API key or access token"

Double-check that you copied the full access token. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces. If you lost the token, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the custom app to generate a new one.

"Forbidden" or "403" error

Your custom app may not have the correct scopes. Go back to your app configuration and ensure both read_content and write_content are enabled, then reinstall the app.

"Blog not found"

Verify the Blog ID is correct and that the blog exists in your store. The blog must be active (not deleted or archived).
